Had a really good time. Very nice place to visit..
Awesome place to See if you're in Kansas. Very Well Done for a Historical Museum. it's worth the Extra Time to Visit at Least One Time in your Lifetime.
Great place. Would love to see it during summer hours!
Man oh man, what an awesome place! I visit it with my family when I was about 4 yrs old. 40 years later I took my children. My kids absolutely adored it. And my kids aren’t particularly enamored by cowboys or the old West. Nonetheless, the fell in love with it.
The Boot Hill Museum in Dodge City was a good experience. It does a fine job of showing the history of the area without romanticizing. I was pleased w the opening film that emphasized the slaughter of the bison in order to starve the Native Americans. Now if we could just get people to recognize it as genocide. The shoot out at high noon was cheesy, but good cheese— much better than the Front Street re-enactment in Ogalala, Nebraska. However the Boot Hill in Ogalala feels much more authentic. Too bad the earlier population in Dodge didn’t recognize the need to preserve that history better. Museum has some great exhibits, especially enjoyed the humanization of the “soiled dove.” Well done Dodge. Would like to return and bring my family and/or friends someday!
